What kind of society are you designing for?

I try with my bachelor thesis to create a support for artists in the field of music, theater and dance. It should be my contribution to culture, which is increasingly neglected in my opinion. This is also the direction I want to take after graduation, I want to bring people together, let them dream and pick them up for a moment.

How can we as designers survive in a capitalist world and at the same time fight against/let ourselves not be taken over by the system?

A very good question that I have often racked my brain over. I can’t come up with a satisfactory answer. I think you have to find a balance between how far you want to get involved in something. But in the end, it all comes down to money. That’s the only thing that pays all the bills. And you also have to be strong in self reflection, will it or was it worth all the energy and time you put into it?

Was there an input / assignment / exercise that was particularly insightful?

All the modules helped me to learn something new. It is exciting when you have the time and can deal with a topic what all comes out of it.
For myself, it has increased the excitement of dealing with my topic.
The module also shows how important it is not only to deal with digital media, but to really go to a library and expand your research and take a closer look. For example, when I was researching a poster, a whole new world opened up for me with incredible stories and insights.
