Free Flow
Two days of an unexpected journey. Also, two days which were decisive for me in the point that I presented my Bachelor idea for the first time to my fellow students and lecturers. So, I was kind of curious what they thought about my idea.
What I take with me are three impressions.
1. I really enjoyed the walk with the class. In a very relaxed atmosphere, people were able to talk and discuss ideas in an informal way. What I noticed and showed me on the one hand that I am on a good way and on the other hand it took away some of the pressure. Everyone liked my idea and saw the chance for Interaction Design to develop freely. I saw that it is good where I am standing my idea does not have to be completely thought through. Plus, I have step back a little bit and give the process of finding out and experimenting a chance. Otherwise, I am far too early with a solution. Without ever having looked at other alternatives.
2. On the second day we had the task to create a small installation or performance within 30min. The task showed us again how fast you can do something with quick prototyping and get a first impression if the idea you have works. Through this process I also decided that I would be open to a second person who’s interested in my idea. It doesn’t matter if they are from my class or interdisciplinary.
3. Get out of your comfort zone! Really get out there. We had to stand on a rise in the living room and deliver a 3 min performance. I gave my vocal art to the best… poor class. But it was an experience I will never forget. It’s worth leaving your own comfort zone, because these little moments can have a big impact.
